Also, I've switched from Signal to Molly (https://molly.im) as part of my experiment in "how long can I get away with not installing Google Play Services on #GrapheneOS?"
Weirdly, the only app which absolutely refused to work without Google Play Services so far is BrainFM (https://brain.fm)
Happily, I've discovered brain.fm has a web player which I can install as a shortcut
