So I've got my #Mikrotik cAP ax mounted and the #UniFi equipment removed from my #Homelab successfully. I've also integrated it into #HomeAssistant just because with it's own user and group using the api. So far so good and yes there are a lot of settings in the MikroTik and it takes some understanding but I got there in the end. Even upgraded it and made backups. 馃榿
Instead of working something productive, I have been fighting with #FreshRSS and its #XPath (scraping) feature to make a working #unifi blog #RSS feed.
After some back and forth with documentation and #AI, I finally have a working version.
Still blown away that they have terminated the feeds (especially for the blog site), and glad that 1.20 version has introduced this possibility with no need to depend on other public or #selfhosted services.
Before and after: #UniFi upgrades for my network closet!
Just made the migration from #UniFi Controller to UniFi OS. What the instructions don't tell you is that the install will fail unless you have the uidmap debian package installed.

Alright - I've followed @Starkimarm recommendation and installed #Proxmox on the server. On new NVMes following @cubeos advice. 馃槈
I also successfully installed #homeassistant using the Proxmox VE Helper Scripts
Now - what's the recommended way to install #nextcloud #paperlessng #unifi etc? These are only available as LXC or, as for Nextcloud, a super old VM.
Would you install a dedicated VM for each (Debian?) and then only the LXC on that or is there a better way?
I've been learning more about #networking this weekend with my #ubiquiti #unifi devices. #VLAN almost makes sense 馃ゴ
I'm still struggling with how to put my #proxmox server onto one VLAN along with a few VMs that will operate on the internal network, and put the other VMs on a separate VLAN. I have two NICs so I can segregate the traffic at the physical switch.
It seems like I need to install some software on ProxMox to have a virtual switch.
But I keep getting tripped up on the Unifi side.
