Just had my first 7am NZ/7pm Europe media interview on satelllite pollution (the NZ time zone is tricky for this!) While watching the sun rise over gorgeous semi-tropical hills and giant Norfolk pine. This isn't too bad (other than the 7am interview thing...) #ProfSamLectureTour

Relatedly: my kids just tried Marmite for the first time. They are not impressed.

@sundogplanets Like many savouryish things (Guinness, Olives) Marmite is an acquired taste. As such, should you wish to, you can use an acclimatisation process to slowly introduce Marmite in to your diet. Going all-in, big time, on a first Marmite encounter is a recipe for disgust/disaster. Unless of course you have the hard core Marmite gene 😉
Follow the following step by step process, only if you want to. I would not force Marmite on to anyone unwillingly 1/4

@sundogplanets Beginners make the mistake of putting too much on; it needs to be a VERY thin layer. One pot lasts ages! Vegemite needs a much thicker layer before it tastes nearly as good. (Opinions are subjective!).

@sundogplanets add honey. It's weird, but it's kinda 'weird nice' with honey :)

@sundogplanets Marmite is good (to my tastebuds) but it's like salt. You only need a little. A spoonful would be horrible.

Can understand why a lot of folk don't care for it though.

@sundogplanets
Back when I could eat them, I really liked Twiglets.
However, the first time I tried Marmite I hated it.

@sundogplanets 😂 It’s one of those foods that unless you’ve grown up with it, it doesn’t really appeal. (Though I’m 💯 kiwi, and I prefer Vegemite)
