I finished the book Enshittification by @pluralistic! Highly recommended, an enjoyable read regardless if you're already familiar with the concepts discussed or if you're new to these ideas.

I adore that a large portions of the book are dedicated to what we, both as a larger society and as individuals can do about enshittification. Cory Doctorrow has done a couple talks lately where he explicitly talks about the differences between hope and optimism, and why he's hopeful for the future. His writing style clearly reflects that stance, even though that stance is only ever implied in this book. It's a breath of fresh air!

Also, I appreciated that the book challenged me on my negative feelings toward enshittification being used as a term to simply mean "something getting worse." The last piece at the end of the acknowledgements changed my mind on that, and I appreciate that the creator of the word is chill with the word being used that way.

@stovis @threedollarchickenparm Despite the very serious subject matter, the book has made me laugh a few times already. @pluralistic has an exceptionally witty writing style (if, like me, you appreciate offbeat nerd humour). I'm starting the section "The Cure" today, but I've already recommended the book to several people just from the first chapter. Definitely my book of the decade.
