I think televisor is a more appropriate word for the device we use to watch television. Television sounds like the overall system including both broadcast and reception.

Had to check did I remember correctly that the first prototype had a huge wheel to work as blocker, which meant that the screen was always limited by having to have space for the blocker. A screen bigger than few inches didn't fit a room, not to mention: through a door.
