Happy 100th birthday television!

On January 26th, 1926, John Logie Baird gave the first public demo of a working television system in his laboratory above what is now Bar Italia on Frith Street, in London's Soho.

馃幍 You've had your time, you've had your power, you've yet to have your finest hour.

No, wait, that's radio. Never mind, same thing but with pictures!

The blue plaque erected on the side of 22 Frith Street. It reads "In 1926 in this house, JOHN LOGIE BAIRD (1888 - 1946) first demonstrated TELEVISION".

It has been placed there by the London County Council.
