Revealing what has happened is quite a clever move by #jeromepowell . He is giving notice to the financial markets so that lenders can if they wish reduce their exposure to #us bonds . And arguably markets tend to work better when all participants are well informed!

Yes. Randahl, you may want to correct your post. The DOJ, likely under his direction, is investigating Powell for something having to do with renovations and testimony to Congress. Powell explains that this malicious prosecution is because of his failure to abide by the administration's desire to further lower interest rates.
