@quixoticgeek
A Danish wedding ceremony almost got canceled because the couple had pulled a Vegas beforehand.
The vicar found out about this just in time to call the couple before the government did, and they then answered that OF COURSE the Vegas thing was intended as a legal marriage!
They then held a beautiful ceremony in church blessing their existing marriage.
If the Vegas marriage had been in doubt they could have held neither wedding nor blessing in church.
Dot your i's, kids!
@quixoticgeek ha ha ha ha ha 🤣
Oh my days! On one of the biggest days of your life, having ChatGPT say the most important words is tragic, joke or not and marriage shouldn't be a joke. The courts were right, we can't have idiots using ChatGPT in wedding ceremonies everywhere.
@quixoticgeek how did this end up in court because I'm picturing a Dutch person attending the wedding and going "no, this is not the correct procedure, I will inform the authorities"
@quixoticgeek One also has to wonder what the official registrar was doing; we presume they were present for a reason and didn't do their job either e.g. by intervening and checking the wording before/during/after...
@NatalyaD @quixoticgeek
That just made me think about our wedding.
Sue and I wrote our own vows, but I remember the registrar saying to us something like "...at this point I need to say the legal words..." so we're still good.
@quixoticgeek genuinely good decision by that court and I'm not just saying that out of disgust or because it's funny (though both add to it obv)
