I reckon that boils down to "someone at Anthropic likes using Bun". When you're burning billions, acquiring a firm burning millions is petty cash, so why not? Provides stability and control for Anthropic.
Whether it's a positive for anyone else is a very different calculation. Is Anthropic a genuinely stable, safe bet? Not really, their burn rate just has more zeroes.
