Your periodic remainder that information in solid state hard drives is stored as charge in NAND gates, and without power that charge is gradually lost.

It’s not very bad (1 to 10 years before data loss), and it probably won’t affect most of the people who power their SSD-based devices quite regularly.

But you know that old laptop gathering dust in your cabinet, or that server backup stored on an SSD in you drawer?

Remember to power them up at least once a year.
