I have loved following the amazing photography of @CatherineBabault.

So yesterday when I saw this generated image (pic 1) of how her awesome photo of A BEAR could look as a poster, I got worried that she would get in trouble for not adhering to the server rules by disclosing that THE ROOM was generated.

So I messaged her (pic 2).

To my surprise, Cathrine then blocked me — maybe she thought I was accusing THE BEAR of being generated.

I really wish she knew, I was talking about THE ROOM.

I've stopped caring about the blocking culture here. I fully support each and every person's right to block for whatever reason they have.

In the end it's their loss, choosing to live in a cocoon of "yes people", never experiencing a single opinion or word not 100% adhering to their own views.

But adding to that, I would like for people like you and I to inspire others to change that culture. I know that is extremely difficult, but at least that is why I am writing about it.

@saarmuller I suppose it is only natural that we lose some tolerance, because we meet an endless army of trolls on social media in general.

I will add though, that I think Mastodon has been much, much better in this regard. No medium is perfect of course, but to me at least Mastodon feels 100 times more friendly than the old Twitter ever was.

@randahl I once posted a popular author’s social media pointing out that in his books he repeatedly used a slightly off-color word that could be misinterpreted, with lots of other synonyms available in English I felt he could avoid the word in future works. He accused me of being a little old lady who finds dirty words in the dictionary. That was unkind, but then his fans jumped in with gusto. I had to block the thread and just let them win. If it made them feel good, let them be

1) No mention of the room being the issue in your message. It certainly reads like you're claiming the photographer faked her image.
2) Telling other people how to post. That's an instablock for me.
