Hey #FediForum, I've an ask: If you attended my session at the end of FediForum today, and you'd like to see me continue to work on these ideas, please support me financially.

Right now I'm having to look for work outside of the Fediverse because I simply cannot make ends meet.

I need €60-70k per year to support myself, right now, year to date, I've received €17,150.52 in financial support from the community, and €11,400 from NLNet grants.

That doesn't allow me to to all the work I'm doing, I'm barely able to pay my rent right now.

Roughly 40% of what I earn goes to taxes and health insurance, nearly €900 a month goes to rent. So I'm really struggling to make ends meet, despite doing huge amounts of work in the Fediverse.

My total income this year is a little bit above €28,550.52 but not by much; I think it's maybe €35,000 or €38,000 in total (just whatever small amounts of freelance work I could pick up)

I should also note that once I've enough to be comfortable, that's when I can start funding people to help me with the work I'm doing and lifting others that are doing cool work up too.

@thisismissem have u considered moving to a country with a lower cost of living?

@Logical_Error I shouldn't have to, especially when that likely gives me a trade off of safety, healthcare, or affects the local population through gentrification.

We definitely can support reasonably modest salaries in the fediverse, we just have to want it.
