@ncopa wanted to note that i had such an incredibly positive experience contributing to aports https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/aports/-/merge_requests/38785 it wasn't even clearly a problem to solve but the user who went by psykose was incredibly patient in helping me to understand the very tricky corner of the packaging system i'd fallen into. this experience was so positive i'm now considering trying to package the new nvidia open source driver for alpine
