We had #Fedicon because @reiver came to #sxsw to speak, and he left with the conviction that a Fediverse event in Vancouver would work. And he reached out to Canadian Fediverse participants to get a great lineup of speakers. He energized some really talented collaborators like @manlycoffee and @Crissy to make the event actually happen.

@reiver @manlycoffee @Crissy I am super honored to have keynoted the first Fedicon, and I believe it would be a great event to repeat in the future. If it happens again, I will come.

There are Fediverse meetups, Activities in the Pub, FedUps, Hackdays and hackathons, and side events happening everywhere.
If you want to meet in person, there are Fedi people near you who want to, also.
@reiver @manlycoffee @Crissy if you are very remote, or you have other reasons you don't go to in person meetings, there are online events and meetups, too. Fediforum happens in October.
