Controle Alt Delete: Vijf jaar na de dood van Sammy Baker
"Op 13 augustus 2025 is het precies vijf jaar geleden dat Sammy Baker op 23-jarige leeftijd werd doodgeschoten door Amsterdamse politieagenten. In 2020 werd Sammy Baker doodgeschoten door de Amsterdamse politie. Sammy, een Duitse man van kleur, was een influencer op Instagram. Hij was in Amsterdam om zijn verjaardag te vieren en raakte in een psychose na wietgebruik. Hij raakte zoek, werd alsnog gevonden door zijn familie, rende een binnetuin in. Sammy droeg een klein zakmes bij zich dat hij tegen zijn eigen hals hield. Zes gewapende agenten stonden om hem heen. De situatie escaleerde nadat een hondenbeleider van de politie probeerde om Sammy aan te houden. Hij werd kort daarna in verwarde toestand doodgeschoten door de Amsterdamse politie. De hele interactie duurde vijftien minuten.
De agenten schoten om het leven te beschermen van de agent die samen met Sammy op de grond viel, zo verklaarden drie agenten. Eind 2020 brachten we nieuwe feiten over de dood aan het licht, maar het Openbaar Ministerie besloot in 2021 toch om niet over te gaan tot vervolging. …"
