Apologies for my far fewer posts these days, receiving intensive treatment.
Thanks all. Indulging in #SelfCare / #TreatYoSelf by rewatching #Firefly. Hence the not paying attention to #geopolitics / #Trump antics as much as usual.

From tumblr's brightwanderer:
"I think a lot about how we as a culture have turned “forever” into the only acceptable definition of success.
Like... if you open a coffee shop and run it for a while and it makes you happy but then stuff gets too expensive and stressful and you want to do something else so you close it, it’s a “failed” business. If you write a book or two, then decide that you don’t actually want to keep doing that, you’re a “failed” writer. If you marry someone, and that marriage is good for a while, and then stops working and you get divorced, it’s a “failed” marriage.
The only acceptable “win condition” is “you keep doing that thing forever”. A friendship that lasts for a few years but then its time is done and you move on is considered less valuable or not a “real” friendship. A hobby that you do for a while and then are done with is a “phase” - or, alternatively, a “pity” that you don’t do that thing any more. A fandom is “dying” because people have had a lot of fun with it but are now moving on to other things.
I just think that something can be good, and also end, and that thing was still good. And it’s okay to be sad that it ended, too. But the idea that anything that ends is automatically less than this hypothetical eternal state of success... I don’t think that’s doing us any good at all."
I went to a demonstration today, then to a gay bar with some of the people at the demonstration for a couple of beers.
I feel better about life after hanging out with good people.
Take time for a #SelfCare.
How to Relax Right Now • The Physiological Sigh
The physiological sigh is a science-backed breathing technique that quickly lowers our heart rate and helps our nervous system to calm down. It’s a great way to come back to balance when we feel #stress or #anxiety. And doing it regularly helps to prevent #burnout.
Thanks for taking care of yourself! You’re definitely worth it 🙏🏼
Ok, now I'm know my depletion has reached dangerous levels. I'm listening to one of my favourite songs, Cannonball by The Breeders, a song that normally lifts me up with its excruciatingly joyful whimsy. I feel ... nothing. Just dead inside.
Today is wet and cold, despite it being the middle of our summer, and I've just got home from a long trip away, with another one on the horizon. So I'm just going to rest. Hope the fog of doom starts to lift after a day or 2 of relaxation.

A day without news, without doomscrolling. Only beautiful things, nature photos. And I doodled leisurely and watched a few animated films. Above all, I relaxed.
World politics has not changed for better or worse as a result of my rest, but I now have more energy again to work towards change. And I see: We must echo the voices of the good people much more than falling into the spiral of outrage.
#Selfcare is an important part of #resistance!

We, in the #US, are living in scary times. If you're engaged in #activism at any level, make sure to take breaks from time to time.
#Resistance is a #collective effort, and it helps nobody if you burn out before the work is done. Take care of yourselves and each other! You are worth it!
For all the much-needed bodhisattva aspirants out there. 🙏
💥 Okay, I finally got my own TENS machine (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)! This thing is becoming my new secret weapon.
I'm still hitting the Wellness Center for amazing treatments—think cupping and ultrasonic massage—but this device is pure magic for home maintenance between visits!
After getting treated with it twice, I learned TENS isn't just a random buzz. It’s basically needle-free acupuncture! I'm now targeting specific energy spots (acupoints) like the one on my shoulder (GB-21) that kills my neck tension and headaches.
It helps my body flow smoothly. No more guessing games, just effective relief and better energy!
I’ll share a breakdown on how I’m doing this next week.
For all the much-needed bodhisattva aspirants out there. 🙏
In today's busy world, it can be easy to get lost in the noise and forget to take care of yourself. Take a few minutes out of your day to pause, breathe deeply, and check in with yourself. What do you need right now? Maybe it's a walk in nature, a few minutes of meditation, or simply a break from thinking. Remember, self-care is not selfish, it's essential.

🐘 A Note on Healing and Hope
Sometimes, the weight of the year and the sadness from the past feel too heavy. I was crying today because of all that pain. (also because apparently having TCM treatments unblock deep-seated emotions trapped in the body). 😔
A friend reminded me of something very simple and true: Tears are not wasted.
They are like the rain that waters the dry parts of your heart. Slowly, a beautiful pink rose will start to grow from that hard ground. 🌹
Rumi says if a door doesn't open, just stay there. Soon, secret paths will show up that only you can see.
I am choosing to believe in that secret path and the rose. Sending peace to anyone else carrying a heavy heart thru the holidays. You are strong.

Confession time: haven't been feeling my best professionally or personally. 😔
It’s hard to focus when your mind is full of grief (I lost 3 people I love) and dealing with a painful betrayal. The heavy feeling was blocking a lot.
But I finally found help: a special treatment that felt like an immediate "system reboot." Now, I feel light, clear, and ready to work again.
Taking care of your health is the best career move you can make.
If you are carrying a lot of stress or pain, read my full story about this amazing treatment. I hope it helps you too:
What do you recommend?
Did your IT job interview go amazing? You thought they loved you? Do you remember laughing with a friendly interviewer and thinking you had made a connection? Yet, a week later, they rejected you? You are not alone. most people genuinely don’t understand this process anymore. Please don't beat yourself up, be kind to yourself. The whole job market is like this.
