In April 1940, the SS newspaper Das Schwarze Korps ran a full‑page rant accusing Superman of “poisoning American children” mocking creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster for being Jewish, and fuming over a Look magazine spread in which Superman hauled Hitler and Stalin before a war‑crimes tribunal.

Extremely predictable: From day one, fascists disliked how the character championed the powerless and chastised tyrants.
