Been a while since I’ve spun this one, as I’m usually leaning towards Crazy Rhythms if I’m in the mood for The Feelies.
This is a different album from Crazy Rhythms; it’s much more pastoral and earthy sounding, and far less spastic than its predecessor. However, it is no less excellent.
They waited SIX YEARS after that first landmark album to put this out. The band were all working regular day jobs, and getting together as time permitted to craft these songs.
The time served them well.
It’s an album that has aged wonderfully like fine wine, with production help from R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, who was a huge fan.
A different record in the BEST possible way.

THIS was my favorite gift from all the Christmas vinyl I received this year.
I friggin love Naked Raygun SO MUCH. I came to them REALLY late in life. It took me until the late 90s to discover just how awesome they were, starting with JETTISON.
This pressing sounds INFINITELY better than previous ones; way punchier, and way more dynamic than the awful 2022 version.
One of the great underrated bands ever.
This was one of two Naked Raygun albums I was given for Christmas. I was also given All Rise, both by the same very good friend.
I love all of their records, but Jettison is my favorite. It’s where my love affair with them started, and the one I revisit the most.
Now that I have a great sounding vinyl version of it, I’ll be cranking it even more.

I just spent over 6 hours doing Christmas shopping, and I’m like Ben Stiller in the movie Heavyweights after the fat kids lock him up.
I am a broken man.
So it’s time for an incredible #ambient #etheral album to help relax me.
I’ve long been a fan of this record, and when I first discovered it, it was solely because I saw the name Elizabeth Fraser on it. A woman who’s voice is OTHERWORLDLY and who’s work I already loved from The Cocteau Twins.
An incredible evening listen, and a record I’m glad to have an ‘86 pressing of, as all the reissues I’ve heard don’t sound very good.
Beautiful album. A lovely, glacial hug.

Oh man, do I love this record. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard it.
This is a SUPER lo-fi mish-mash of #psych , #blues , and tribal #80s #artrock / #punk from Los Angeles.
The band only made three records (this one is their second), but each one is uncompromising and completely unique in their delivery.
There’s something oddly hypnotic about No Aggro, despite how incredibly Lo-fi sounding it is.
Maybe Pere Ubu-ish in some spots? Carrying the spirit of other bands like This Heat, but maybe a little more unhinged? I don’t know.
Regardless, even though it’s probably not for everyone, it’s worth a listen for the sake of pure art.
This record was limited to only 2,000 copies and is numbered #115 .

While my wife gets ready to head out for the day for her birthday, a quick spin for me while I wait.
As I mentioned the last time I posted a Descendents record (I Don’t Want To Grow Up), this band and my early teenage years go hand in hand.
Grow Up, this, and Everything Sucks represent a very special time in my life, and I guess you could say I’m very sentimental about these records. However, I feel that as far as a lot of that simplistic punk from back then goes, Descendents records still sound great to my ears. I can still listen to them and enjoy them at 48, the same way I did when I was a teenager.
Not a single song longer than two minutes and ten seconds.
Absolute bliss, man.
