I hiked several times to hike to Lago Federa in the #Dolomites. It's one of my favorite places ever.
But I rarely had the chance to witness the overlapping of autumn and winter in such a beautiful way.
This was taken in November 2023. It snowed the day before, but larchs were still red, so the result was the beautiful Becco di Mezzodì framed by blue, white and red.

On New Year's Eve 2023/4, this young cat jumped into my car while I was taking pictures around the Circle K, just before midnight. The temp was well below-freezing.

Many calls and texts later, a friend agreed to take kitty in and came to pick them up. Here, we're waiting in the Fiat, heat on, for their rescuer to arrive.

Later, I learned Kitty was a foster fail for the friend who already had many, many cats. ❤️
