We had a great time at the @xpub@post.lurk.org EXTRATERRESTRIAL ZINE FAIR. Gave our first talk about FREE BOOKS in a cute auditorium, followed by a lively discussion with participants. Throughout the day, we had many great interactions about minibiebs, data centres and undersea cables with other publishers and guests at our stall at the fair. By complete surprise, we met one of the contributors to the book who had found our original call for submissions online. The venue also came with its own minibieb attached to it!

There are some areas where open source struggles to keep up.

Collaborative document editing is a big one. We don't love a lot of the existing solutions (Collabora, OnlyOffice, Outline).

We are super excited by the emerging project of Docs: https://github.com/suitenumerique/docs

It has a public funding model which could be really interesting and a viable Google Docs competitor that's already been deployed at a reasonably large scale.

We look to seeing what other projects emerge.
