A few days after the arrival of my first Analogue 3D in the Funtastic Limited Edition color of "Smoke", here's its sibling console in a stunning "Jungle" green variant. 😃
I just love all of these colors! Which one would you guys prefer?

GIRLS AGAINST BOYS
Cruise Yourself
2026 U.S. Ltd. Edition reissue
Suspended Gold vinyl
Oh man!
I had no idea that they reissued this!
So happy I was able to snag one before they vanished, as there’s only 1000 of them, apparently.
GVSB are one of the great unheralded bands of the #90s . I was able to see them play live TWICE back in the day, and they were incredible. There wasn’t a single album of theirs that I didn’t love.
This was their third album, and their second for Touch And Go, a label I absolutely consumed and lived on back then. This has the magnificent “Kill The Sex Player” on it, a song that also appeared on the soundtrack to Kevin Smith’s CLERKS.
For me, this band’s secret weapon was always their awesome rhythm section.
GREAT drummer (Alexis Fleisig) & bass player (Johnny Temple).

Ah, simpler times, when the world's demise was orchestrated by competent people through clever conspiracies.
Wait, this is fiction, it was always a bunch of ridiculous, very public bros, concerned only with making the line go up. It was in plain sight all along.

TOM WAITS
Mule Variations
2018 U.S. 2xLP reissue
A perfect spin for a Saturday afternoon in winter.
I’ve been wanting to listen to this again for a few weeks, as it is probably still my SECOND favorite Waits album behind Rain Dogs.
For Tom to have made a record THIS level of stellar some 26 years into his career was INSANE. Tom albums are always GOOD, but Mule Variations is amongst two or three of his all-time finest.
Big in Japan, Hold On, House Where Nobody Lives, Come On Up To The House… start to finish. A perfect balance of every kind of Tom. The beautiful heartfelt ballads, and the junkyard stomps.
And “What’s He Building?” is an all-time weirdo Waits tune.

AFGHAN WHIGS
Congregation
2017 U.S. 2xLP reissue @ 45rpm
The only essential Whigs album I was missing, and I finally found it today!
I’ve never seen an original press, but this sounds so good on my system (cut at 45rpm), I don’t think I’ll ever need to bother.
Everybody calls Gentlemen the absolute Whigs masterpiece. They’re not wrong, as it is a stroke of #90s genius.
However, it always baffles me that few people hold Congregation in the same light.
It’s equally breathtaking, and the first REAL taste of how good the Whigs were.
Sub-Pop were on the brink of collapse when they made it, and the label couldn’t even pay the band’s studio bills.
Then NEVERMIND hit, & things were fine.
Didn’t matter.
The Whigs were off to Elektra after this.
I’m glad this reissue includes the hidden track “Miles Iz Ded” (it’s unlabelled), as it’s one of the great Whigs classics.

Before the Internet, I got a lot of my computer news from this man. RIP 🫡 https://obits.goldsteinsfuneral.com/stewart-cheifet
@siracusa This is truly heartbreaking. I often go back and watch old episodes with so much nostalgia. In fact, I remember before most episodes were uploaded to YouTube, I binged on almost every episode one weekend while babysitting. I always would have loved to see a revival of the show done the same format and aesthetic reviewing modern versions of tech. #RIP Stewart Cheifet, definitely one of kind presenter. Thank you for documenting the era. #Technology #Microsoft #Apple #90s #Computers #PC

I’ve been wanting to listen to this great album again, as it’s been quite a while since I’ve listened to it front-to-back.
One of the two most recognizable #90s supergroup albums (along with Mad Season), and I find that depending on whose vocals you were more a fan of, Chris or Layne’s, THAT was the album you liked better.
Personally, I hold both Layne and Chris in the same regard. I loved and admired both of their otherworldly gifts equally, but musically, I’ve always leaned more towards the Temple record.
It’s got a different kind of magic and soul for me that the Mad Season album lacks, & these songs feature some of Chris’ most powerful vocal performances.
Love that beautiful etching of Side 4, too.
Goddamn it, do I miss Chris.
It still makes me so sad sometimes.
