Question to the Fediverse:
What are good Open Source Slack or Discord alternatives?
And what are the features you see as mandatory for a team communication platform?
Here I have to confess that I myself never got the hang of Slack. I always felt overwhelmed. So I feel completely unqualified for judging alternatives 🤪

I remember seeing statistics about #AltText usage on Mastodon. AFAIR something like percentage of posts with images including alttex or instance.
I can't find the statistics. Does anyone have a pointer, ideally for recent statistics?
Google is now marking EVERY SINGLE APK at our repository as "Malware site issue". Congrats, "Safe" browsing.
Of course there is not a single malware there, everything is scanned multiple times. And I bet they excluded *.google.com from their scan or the entire PlayStore would be red by now, too…
Calling out to all of you: Please use https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_error/ to report the links as "safe"!
https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/repo/com.apkupdater_52.apk is the one console reports.

Hat schon jemand Hytale auf dem Steamdeck probiert?
Kann mir jemand sagen was das für ein Stecker ist?

Hi Fediverse! 👋 I have an #ejabbered #XMPP service running and I wonder what is the best practice for a web portal with password recovery for people. I don't even know if one can add an email address to the profile... #fedipower @xmpp
A bit more details
Imagine you identified users who have a weak password, reused their password, or use a password from known breaches.
I would like to notify them that they need to change their password and at the same time increase that chance that they pick a good password when they are asked (or forced) to change their password.
As the password is for their central account a password safe is of limited use 😬
As they can't access their company system without the password, they would need a password safe on another (non-company) device
I'm looking for a simple (standalone, offline, portabel) password generator.
The idea is to "give" it to users when they are requested to change their password
(Reasoning: The time you are forced to change your password NOW is the worst time to think of a unique strong password)
Ideally the generated password should be memorable and typable (on mobile)
It might be a good idea to offer choices and a regenerate option.
Choices might be #DiceWare passwords (with a language specific wordlist)
Ideally the passwords should confirm to configurable password policies
And it should be necessary to mention it. It should be secure!
Edit: a way to add the the password proposals to the Windows password change dialog would also be nice (i belive Ubuntu día something like this)
#Boost and recommendations welcome

Wir sind auf einem guten Weg - mehr als 50.000 Menschen fordern schon von der Bundesregierung, endlich die Plattform X zu verlassen.
Schaffen wir die 100.000, #FediPower?
