Is it similar as the solution developed by #Jami #hubzilla #simplex or #nostr ? A kind of p2p with relay network?

A lot of messaging systems try to reinvent the email system but many (signal, matrix, xmpp) took over one key traditional design which we actually dropped while retaining SMTP/IMAP compatibility: server-controlled identities.

With #chatmail user identities are cryptographic and reside on end user devices only. Servers are only message relays and have no control over identities or chats, only perform fast message routing. @HaraldKi genau also Du kannst eine Chatmail Adresse benutzen, aber diese kann nur verschlüsselte Kommunikation. Unverschlüsselte E-Mails werden nicht angenommen vom Server. Genauso kannst Du mit einer Chatmail Adresse keine unverschlüsselten E-Mail Adressen anschreiben.

Du kannst wie @devSJR schrieb auch eine E-Mail Adresse einbinden.. Die Kommuniziert mit #Chatmail Adressen verschlüsselt und mit normalen E-Mail Adressen unverschlüsselt. Aber ☝🏼 das wird halt nicht (mehr) empfohlen weil diverse Chatmail Vorteile dadurch verloren gehen. Wie halt Videotelefonie, die Nutzung mehrerer Relays zur Ausfallsicherheit. Eine Chatmail Adresse kannst Du nahtlos von einem Relay(Server) zum nächsten umziehen ohne das Deine Chats verloren gehen. Was meines Wissens nach bei E-Mail in #Deltachat nicht geht.

Also solltest Du DC testen wollen mache es am besten gleich richtig über Chatmail. Ich kann Dir, wenn Du magst auch eine Gruppe schicken wo Du die Kommunikation mal ein bisschen durchtesten kannst.

Actualitzar un servidor #chatmail de #DeltaChat és tant fàcil com executar, des del sub directori local:
