Talking about accessibility, Trunk is the worst fediverse client. Blind users avoid it like death - unless you want to fill their resources whatever they are, of feedbacks.
Just to be precise: my purpose is not to humiliate anyone, but to remind the world, we exist. If we stay sitting by ourselves and complain in our comfort zone only, we obtain nothing.

Damn, just last year, @phanpy accessibility was very poor. I'm currently testing the YunoHost version of the client developed by @cheeaun and it wonderfully works, it's so much improved! #phanpy #social #fediverse #accessibility #blind
UPDATE: mullvad VPN seems very, very, very accessible on Windows as well. Going to read guides soon. Changed VPN as well: deleted NordVPN, joined Mullvad. I love the philosophy of that service: you pay what you use without giving too many personal data; nord vpn took my underwear as well if I let it go. And accessibility wasn't good on PC. Now I'll see if Mullvad is accessible via desktop but on my phone it works good. Very good. #accessibility #alternatives #blind #software #vpn
My BSDCan talk about using BSD while being temporarily blind in March has been accepted, so I need to prep a lot more for my blindness and also start taking this more seriously. Anyone want to talk accessibility and OpenBSD with me to give more perspectives?

@Tutanota Show us by your actions, not just words! So far you've shown in your actions, both for those with #MobilityImpairments on Captchas and for #blind users a screenreader issue, that your platform is not at all about #DigitalIndependence or real change, unless you've got neither disability set nor anyone you communicate with does.
#DisabledPeople are the subset of the population most denied our independence and yet which is most easily helped by modern technology, so this slight on your part is a continuation of the larger problem set, not a legitimate change to the status quo.

I'm fed up of standard answers such as "received, we'll pass it on" when I report accessibility issues to @Tutanota - I switched to paid subscription after they quickly enough resolved a captcha issue, but now it is at least since summer that I do not even manage to read e-mails from my web browser.
And on TUTA web page they publicly declare they respect anti-discrimination values.
I am blind, I am an accessibility advocate, no one has the right to silence me any how.
I am not saying this is something intentional or malicious, I am looking at the result. The real life result of what maybe is an unwanted effect of even a single component update.
As inaccessibility is fought through money, if within 3 months I'm not getting an effective concrete response, I'd ask for all my 36€ back till the last cent.
No time to do this yet, I want to trust them once more.
Created an issue on their github repo.
Just received our first prototype of a Nickel-metal Hydride battery charger with a USB plug. This board is made to charge from 1 to 6 cells in series and supports a thermister for sensing overheating batteries.
This circuit design is planned to be a part of a pen-like stylus with a camera and haptic feedback for blind people to feel visual art.

Yesterday I experienced how dangerous AI allucinations can be, once again:
I missed Envision's last webinar from Thursday 29th. And the first thing I did? Let me ask Gemini to summarize the 50 minutes long video; once it managed to do it, even extracting key points, and I double-verified it to be right. But this time it didn't succeed and returned a completely inappropriate subject.
It basically INVENTED a story. Of course I'll take my time listening to the entire conference (like I'm used to) but what if people PERMANENTLY rely on this, assuming "no need to listen to the whole video, let me just have it summarized"?

Question for #blind and partially sighted folk on the fediverse:
If you go to a museum or gallery, do you prefer braille or do you instead use a text to speech app?
(Or both, or something else)
I've got a bit of money to refurbish a small UK museum space with better provisions for Deaf and Blind folk, so I'm keen to know what will be the most useful.
Please Note: This is a question specifically for blind and partially sighted Fedi users, rather than fully sighted folk.
