Using our disasters as a campaign opportunity while your Government slashes funding and initiatives for climate and environment across the board is shameful… it would just be pathetic if it didn’t have real impacts on people and planet! A crowd of around 30 Thames locals went to share this message with Mr Luxon as he appeared in the Coromandel on his photo op tour of the regions hit by this latest bomb. That 30 represents many more of us from around the motu who couldn’t get there due to closed roads and other weather impacts. This Government has done nothing for the environment other than show up for photos when there’s a disaster - they’ve gutted environmental regs, they’ve obliterated climate provisions and they’ve even stripped out the Govt support for these impacts. The should be deeply ashamed, not brazenly using disaster to promote themselves! Footage thanks to Gaysorn Thavat | Coromandel Watchdog of Hauraki
