3. Parce que j'aime la diversité dans les applis d'écoute
Je préfère avoir le choix parmi plusieurs applications pour écouter toute ma musique. De préférence des applis opensource donc non privatrices et pérennes (si le dév principal lâche l'affaire, quelqu'un d'autre pourra reprendre le lead : tant que ce sera utile à quelqu'un, ce sera mis à jour).
En ce moment j'utilise 3 applis selon mon humeur du moment : MusikCube (terminal), Kew (terminal) et Sayonara (en mode graphique).

Un point qui me tracasse un peu c'est l'aspect individuel de la solution d'autohebergement et sa technicité.
Même moi en temps que geek et dev j'ai pas envie de me lancer la dedans.
Je cherche des solutions plus accès communautaire comme #funkwhale mais je n'ai pas encore sauté le pas. 😊 ( toujours sur Deezer )

Important would be that there is an App for at least iPhone/iPad and that things like smart playlists, multiuser etc ist supported so everybody could use the same big catalog but with its own playlists, favourits etc.
If have already found three projects which could be okay: Navidrome, Funkwhale and Koel.
Any thoughts about this? Which route would you go?

I wanted to quote the original post, but I cannot. Any idea if and how that could be possible from posts using Funkwhale?
This year, I downloaded (and uploaded), and listened a lot to a couple of albums. 3rd year of NOT missing Spotify.
In exchange to the universe, I bought some vinyl of local bands, went to a number concerts, and played and published some decent music myself with a public domain license. ( #AlanisMorissatte is really cool, forgot a bit about her)

I'm building a Sound Library for Loops, my #ActivityPub video project, to let users add free audio to their videos.
I'm already looking into integrations with #FunkWhale and Bandwagon.
What other sources for free, libre, or public domain (CC-BY, CC0, etc.) music and sound effects should I check out?
If #Funkwhale is #federated and uses #ActivityPub then why do I need an account? Why can't I login with my Mastodon account? That's my identity, I don't want yet another account to keep track of.

* #Deezer: French. But for 41% owned by the American Access Industries and a lot of smaller owners. With Deezer I get a discount with my Odido phone subscription. Also Deezer has a very decent actively maintained (unofficial) app (despite being Electron). The Android app is just as sublime as the one from Tidal. All apps are btw better than the #Spotify app.
So I created 3 trials. After an hour I ditched #Qobuz keeping Tidal and Deezer for more testing. For now it looks I go for Deezer. A few years ago I tested Deezer as well, but at that moment it was not good enough for me. They improved a lot. Deezer is mostly European, but it's still of course capitalist and vulnerable for #enshittification.
Tidal is not yet enshittifified as far as I can see, but with Dorsey and other tech-bros we all know it won't take that long. Plus it is American. The Norwegian part has nothing to see AFAIK.

Epilogue: After checking the by far largest owner of #Deezer, Access Industries, I decided to give it up. Access Industries is also the owner of Clal Industries, an Israeli industrial investment group. They are guilty for at least building on the Westbank and much more. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Access_Industries) And this is just one aspect of their portfolio. #AccessIndustries is very big and therefore evil.
Besides owning things, they also invest in companies including Snapchat, Square, Yelp, Alibaba, Gett, Spotify (!), Zalando, DigitalOcean (!) and of course Deezer.
What I'm going to do is this: I keep Spotify only for my son's playlist (we have a family account, so only a few euro's per month) and I am going to start exploring real alternatives like #Funkwhale in parallel.

The Loops Sound Library feature is really exciting, leveraging other fediverse platforms like FunkWhale to provide audio that you can add to your Loops videos, while also providing federated attribution.
