All corruption, all the time in Trump world, Exhibit 64,704:

https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/17/business/trump-financial-disclosure-netflix-warner-bros

And as usual, Big Journalism tiptoes around it, using the standard "concerns" and "raises questions" hedges to avoid stating the blatantly obvious reality. Pathetic, but that's the norm.

CNN

Trump purchased up to $51 million in bonds at the end of 2025, including Netflix and Warner Bros. investments | CNN Business

President Donald Trump purchased up to $2 million in Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery investments days after the announcement of a megadeal between the two media giants, among other purchases, according to a financial disclosure from the White House, renewing questions from ethics experts around potential conflicts of interest.

@dangillmor I don't know if they're just too lazy to PROVE there are conflicts of interest, or just too cowardly to SAY it directly.

Another thing that is getting on my nerves is the way journalist questions almost legitimize Trump's actions. They'll ask things like, What action will you take against Greenland if it doesn't capitulate? Things like that. With a president like Trump, questions like this are as good as encouragement, and are also morally and intellectually vacuous.

@dangillmor

Not just "pathetic"...

A willful failure to timely and truthfully inform.

A willful failure of their duty.

By not calling a thing by it's correct name, that media's consumers are left with a sense that thing is less substantive than it actually is.

Such media is part and parcel to how we got where we are.

Cowards all.
