@cstross that reminds me too much of the Butthole Surfers. For now I'm going with The Remora, since his whole schtick seems to be finding something or someone more powerful and sucking up.
In a way, he's like those literary antagonists who ingratiate themselves then try to kill the person they are impersonating.

I’ve always called him JD Shvantz. It’s one of many Yiddish terms for ‘dick’, with the benefit of sounding like his name.
Also Beelzebubba was taken by punk-parody band The Dead Millmen. A fairly classic album.
